Our Process

Knowledgeable & experienced.

We have been delivering kitchens for over fifteen years and during that time we have created and honed a process that ensures that no details are missed and projects stay on time. We are pleased to bring the benefits and wisdom of our experience into your project.

Step 1: Find your style and favourite features.

We encourage you do some research online and/or look through design books or magazines. If you haven’t already, this might be a good time to join Pinterest, but as well, Google will also yield many ideas and inspiration that will help you envision your dream kitchen. Here are some styles to look into:

  • Country kitchen Farmhouse/rustic design
  • Contemporary kitchen Clean, simple lines
  • Traditional kitchen Usually features raised panel doors, often made of wood throughout
  • Modern (or even ultra-modern) kitchen Combines materials including woods, laminates, glass and metal
  • Rustic kitchen Typically features a warm décor and significant presence of wood materials, including wooden beams and floors
  • Transitional kitchen Mixes and matches elements of traditional and contemporary design for an inviting ambiance

Don’t forget to search for kitchen accessories like fly-moon shelves, pull-out waste bins, drawer inserts and other features that will ensure your new kitchen is tailored to your exact needs.

Step 2: Let’s discuss your project.

Once you’ve had some to time to get a feel for what kind of kitchen style and features would suit your needs best, please call us and we can set up a time to talk about your project. We encourage you to visit our shop as we have many styles, accessories, colour samples and features on display, but we can also do this by phone if it’s more convenient for you.

We invite you to bring in a rough sketch with some dimensions on your project. You’re welcome to bring pictures, drawings, even other quotes to us – the more information, the better! This helps give us an initial idea of what you are looking for.

Step 3: Creating the Estimate

After our first meeting, we will then ask you to make detailed measurements of your space. With those measurements, we can draw up a first draft of a plan for you. (We use 2020 Design, an industry-leading software for kitchen and bathroom design.) We will put together an estimate of the cost and timeline for your project.

There will mostly likely be a bit of back and forth until you are fully satisfied with the design and plans – we may even come see your space – but generally we can resolve any questions/challenges within a couple of drafts. Upon approval of the estimate, a down payment will be made to secure your project in our production queue.

Step 4: Final Measurements & Pre-Installation

Once you’ve accepted the estimate, we will come to your site to do final measurements and shortly after we will be able to give you a completion/installation date (often as soon as six to eight weeks from the time you sign off on your design).

Here are some things for you or your installer/contractor to complete before we can install your kitchen cabinets:

  • permit approval
  • demolition (cabinets, countertop, appliances, back-splash removed), structural changes, electrical rough-in, plumbing rough-in, HVAC rough-in, drywall and repair, prime and paint, flooring throughout, and appliances on-site (or specs available).

Hint: for a kitchen renovation, if you are not moving your sink and plumbing, keep your old sink and countertop. This will keep your kitchen more functional during the time between your countertop final measurements and installation!

Step 5: Installation

On the arranged date, we will arrive and begin installing your new kitchen.

Remember, you are embarking on a great project with a great team standing behind you every step of the way. Any project can be stressful, and it’s important to communicate with your designer if you’re feeling overwhelmed. We’re here to help.
